Dear Readers,

Last week, LIPAC participated in the 2022 International Photonics Industry Exhibition and Conference in Gwangju, Korea.

On behalf of LIPAC, there are two employees who have participated in the 2022 International Photonics Industry Exhibition and Conference.

Jean H. Song, a Marketing & Business Team Leader, said that “LIPAC’s O-SiP technology is a platform for optical engines, but it needs to be aligned with the final module/product company and to be able to implement through the Total Echo System. The domestic optical industry consists mainly of lighting and simple/passive parts, but it is necessary to foster optical fusion semiconductors in consideration of the global market in the future, and to reconsider domestic business models that can meet national policies and national land development plans.

Dongwook Kim, a Development Team researcher, said that “Most of the same companies in the optical industry have a lot of LED lighting, and optical communication is a field that only some companies are trying. So, we are almost the only company that incorporates semiconductor processes. I think the unexpected visit of YTN Broadcasting was due to the fact that our business field was rare and it was a strategic industry for a national institution called the semiconductor field. Also, thought that the LIPAC has high growth potential as it is a company that has pioneered the optical area.”

Also, he said it was a good opportunity to be supported by the Korea Mining Industry Promotion Association (Gwangju), and it is expected to continue this opportunity in the future.
