In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the market demand for optical sensors which recognize environmental data is surpassing that for optical interconnect. Due to the competitivity in ultra-compact size and low power consumption of LIPAC's optical engine for ToF sensor and proximity sensor, its application may be broaden to mobile devices, wearable devices, in-cabin monitoring for smart cars, and LIDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) for autonomous vehicles.
The VCSEL, image sensor, driver IC, and passive elements essential for sensing distance information are integrated in the form of single package in the ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor optical engine. It has the world's smallest form factor, so it can be applied to wide range of applications such as mobile devices, wearable devices, smart cars, and IoT home appliances.
The optical engine for proximity sensor integrates ICs including VCSEL and photodiode necessary to detect a nearby object. Because it does not require wire bonding for electrical connections, it has the world's thinnest form factor. It is optimized for smartphones and TWS (True Wireless Stereo).
