LIPAC, a company specializing in optical engine design, participated in the Photonics West (Photonics West 2023) held in San Francisco from the 30th of last month (local time) to the 2nd of this month.
Photonics West is the largest exhibition event related to optoelectronic engineering held annually by the international society of optics and photonics (SPIE). Major figures from all over the world, including researchers, engineers, and business experts, gather in one place to identify the latest technology trends and develop active businesses.
LIPAC is a company that designs parts (optical engines) for optical communication and optical sensors. Various optical engine products are being developed based on O-SiP (Optical System in Package) technology, which was developed for the first time in the world by converging optical and electronic technologies. O-SiP is a multi-purpose 'optical packaging platform' technology that integrates various types of devices into a single semiconductor package by the wafer.
At the exhibition, LIPAC has begun to establish a full-fledged partnership for optical engines for 400Gbps-FR4 and 400Gbps-LR4 optical transceivers for overseas buyers. Previously, LIPAC had already received excellent reviews in performance tests for existing customers.
Based on this, LIPAC plans to supply samples for performance tests to new partners secured at the exhibition as soon as product development is completed this month.
"We have made company-wide efforts to develop 400Gbps products over the past year", said Park Dong-woo, CEO of LIPAC. "From this exhibition, we will make full-fledged entry into the market based on actual development results."
"We have contacted various partners that can lead to actual contracts here," he said. "We are discussing in detail business plans that can be applied to existing optical products as well as future optical connection technologies with global big techs."
